The Rainier Legacy
Rainier Industries began in 1896 during the Alaskan Gold Rush. The company started producing tents for prospectors traveling north to the Klondike for the Gold Rush, in downtown Seattle. After the Gold Rush, the company diversified into an awning business and began selling awnings in a growing downtown Seattle.
Today, Rainier is a diverse and unique manufacturing company. We have plants on both the east coast and the west coast with about 250 employees. Many of our employees have been with Rainier Industries for decades.
