Made of off-white, 14 oz polyester reinforced vinyl, a properly installed tent fly will contact the tent along the ridgeline and provide an air space between the tent and the fly. The tent fly overlaps the tent approximately 1 ft on all sides. Grommets are place in reinforced hems that have a roped edge for extra strength.
In extremely wet or humid conditions, the tent fly prevents any rain from contacting the roof of your wall tent. This allows the tent to breathe out moisture even under severe winter conditions. Since a fly keeps most of the rain from contacting your tent, you will be packing out a fairly dry tent. This makes it easy to move from camp to camp
