The Rainier Legacy

Rainier Industries began in 1896 during the Alaskan Gold Rush. The company started in downtown Seattle, producing tents for prospectors traveling north to the Klondike for the Gold Rush. After the Gold Rush, the company diversified and began selling awnings to the growing Seattle population.

Today, Rainier is a diverse and unique manufacturing company with plants on both the east and west coasts. Many of our over 250 employees have been with Rainier Industries for decades; Scott Campbell, CEO of Rainier Industries, has worked for Rainier for most of his lifetime. In his words: “At the end of the day, what really gets me excited about coming to work in the morning is the people I work with, and we have a lot of fun taking care of our customers.”
