If you plan to raise your yurt in a location where summer climates reach high temperatures, you will want to consider the best tactics to stay cool in a yurt while the temperature rises.
Aside from being popular glamping and full-time living options, yurts are designed to provide one of the most environmentally friendly living options available. What about the sustainable efficiencies that yurts offer?
The dome at the crown of a yurt is a formed acrylic “bubble” centered over the compression ring. The standard material is ¼” clear UV-Stabilized cell-cast acrylic. The dome can be non-opening or have opening hardware fitted to it at our factory which comes with a hand crank.
We customize every yurt based on the environment, elevation, wind, and snow load requirements. Each yurt is engineered for a ground snow load calculation.
Candace Rardon is a brilliantly talented artist and yurt enthusiast. She posted this illustrated history of yurts on her blog and has given us permission to share it here.
